Inflatable Fabric tenders provide great advantages over other options. Inflatables are lighter, easy to store, and require less horsepower.

Unfortunately, along with these benefits there are also downsides.

The biggest issue with inflatable fabrics is the damage from the sun’s UV rays. PVC especially has been known to be very susceptible although it is a common issue for both PVC and CSM (Hypalon). In addition CSM (Hypalon) and PVC both tend to have a lot of expansion with changes in temperature stretching the material and seams causing failures and costly repairs.

Also, abrasion and scratches can damage the fabric and leave ugly marks and soft impacts with docks and other boats can cause leaks and adhesive failures at the seams. Then there are storage issues with moisture leaving black mold spots that are difficult to remove. And finally, there is the difficulty of keeping the tender clean given the highly porous fabric material like CSM (Hypalon) or PVC.

The solution to these issues is Glidecoat Inflatable. The Hypalon coating uses our Smart Surface Nano Technology to fill all the microscopic pores of the fabric (either CSM or PVC) to create a smooth surface that reflects water, dirt, and salt. With respect to UV, laboratory testing shows that when Glidecoat Inflatable is applied it reduces UV damage and color loss by 45% over a 12-month period.

In addition, the Glidecoat Inflatable Hard Bottom Kit also comes with Glidecoat Marine Ceramic Coating to cover the Fiberglass bottom, thereby protecting it from marine growth.

Our Hypalon coating kits are designed for two size; Up to 12′ and Up to 20′. If you require recommendations from our team on a custom ceramic coating kit to fit your needs, please do not hesitate to reach us at (561) 290-0165 and our team will be glad to help you.

Have been using Glidecoat for 3+ years on our 55′ motor yacht and 13′ RIB with impressive results. Hired Glidecoat pro applicator, team of 4 for the big boat and I did the RIB. Something you need to keep up with every 2 years but results are super impressive. I feel the product has improved with this last round I applied on the RIB. The coating seems thicker when you apply vs water like in the past. It’s a little harder to buff off but the results in terms of gloss and the impression I get is everything is coated well now. First gen ceramics were so thin it was hard to believe anything is left after you buff of what you apply. Now I felt the hypalon and especially the fiberglass had a thicker coating then in the past.

Took the dinghy out yesterday for a sunset cruise and water was beading up nicely on the hypalon. The real test is how it looks a couple of months from now but for it looks FANTASTIC!
