Christian:
How are you doing? It's Christian Westhorpe here with Glidecoat. We have Bill Karmis - a happy customer of Glidecoat and we're here to discuss his experience with our product. Bill, how are you doing today?

Bill:
I'm really good Christian. How are you doing?

Doing very well. Tell us kind of a little bit about what you did with our products in the past.

Sure. You know I worked in the marine industry but I worked in a different field, but I run across opportunities to buy boats and put a little sweat equity in and turn them over and have some fun with that. It's kind of my hobby. So the first boat was a 1994 Searay 370 and I picked it up out of West Virginia. It was a pretty abused boat, I mean, especially from the finish. It say outside, not well taken care of. That's when I got really introduced to Glidecoat. I followed the instructions, I used your compound, your polish and then Glidecoated it myself. It went from having a finish of satin to being able to see the reflection of the mosquitoes on the side of it.

Christian:
That's awesome!

Bill:
I consequently sold that boat, made a nice profit and I really owe a lot of that profit to the success I had with your product. It actually brought the boat back to looking like new. And the steps were simple. It wasn't very difficult to achieve the results I got.

Christian:
How was the application of the product itself?

Bill:
Absolutely, the most amazing part is I've tried products similarly in the past and they were really hard to avoid getting that line between sections.

Christian:
Yeah, between each section.

Bill:
You don't have that problem with this and ultimately it does feel like it brightens the white of the boat.

Christian:
Kind of bring more depth to the...

Bill:
Absolutely. Absolutely...

Christian:
But the prep is definitely an essential part. You said the boat was in bad shape and really no shine to it. The coating is definitely adding some shine, but a lot of that comes from the preparation steps that go before the coating.

Bill:
Absolutely. I'd say you want to be 85% of where you're going to be in the end before you apply the product.

And again, similarly, I took the profits from that boat and bought another boat - a 2000 Tiara Open and again that boat sold for a large margin after I got done with it. But I attribute most of that to the finish on the outside. The boat looked new. I brought that boat up from Florida and we all know what abused Florida boats look like. Again, one of the other amazing parts was that boat I had for multiple seasons. I did the hull and the topsides the first season and I live in Wisconsin so I did the hard top over the next winter. After I did the hardtop... even my boat washer... we went to every two weeks. Because it didn't need to be there...

Christian:
Instead of weekly...

Bill:
I know that's a fresh water scenario, but still, we usually do weekly boat washes. I was able to extend that out.

Christian:
That's perfect. And I'm sure it was probably a lot easier for you to maintain it when you had to as far as washing...

Bill:
Absolutely. Guests coming on... easy! Just rinse off, touch up and go.

Christian:
Perfect.

Bill:
The boat always looks clean.

Christian:
Alright. And then you use any maintenance... you use the Shine & Shield kinda every season?

Bill:
Yeah. Do that... all the time. And I forgot Shine & Shield also works like on soft products, right? Leather?

Christian:
Yeah.

Bill:
Used that on all my cushions. I got away from that 303 product.

Christian:
Ok. That's great.

Bill:
Because I feel that this seals the seams so the cushions don't soak up water when you're sitting outside.

Christian:
That's exactly right.

Bill:
It's a great product.

Christian:
Bill, thank you for taking the time with us and giving your experience with the product.

Bill:
Great product! I use it on everything I have!

Christian:
Awesome! Thank you very much!
