Description
Full Description
Glidecoat MAX is a self-leveling ceramic coating designed to increase durability by providing the thickest protective layer possible from a ceramic coating! The unique Glidecoat MAX formula eliminates the need for hand-buffing or leveling the coating with a microfiber cloth. This allows the coating to cure at its MAXimum coating thickness – 10 times thicker than a standard ceramic coating – 20 microns in thickness versus 1-2 microns. The added thickness dramatically increases durability and allows it to be used under the water line.
Ideal for use underwater
This MAXimum level of thickness makes Glidecoat MAX ideal for underwater protection! Glidecoat MAX cures extremely hard when combined with the increased thickness, creates a durable, long-lasting layer of protection that can stand up to the extreme friction under the water line.
Anti-fouling
The self-leveling formulation creates an antifouling surface on the bottom of your boat that is smooth and hydrophobic. This greatly reduces the ability for marine growth to adhere to the surface. While some growth may occur while the boat is stagnant, most growth accumulated will come off the surface when the boat is in motion. Any growth the remains on the surface will be easily removed by gently cleaning, eliminating the need to use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools. By reducing the amount of marine growth, your boat will be protected against damage and benefit from improved performance and fuel efficiency.
Alternative to bottom paint
Glidecoat MAX can be used as an alternative to bottom paint. Glidecoat MAX goes on completely clear, adds no additional weight to the vessel, and improves vessel performance, making it an excellent alternative to the traditional (and ugly) bottom paint. If the vessel has bottom paint, it must be fully removed before applying Glidecoat MAX.
*Glidecoat MAX should be applied by a Glidecoat Certified Pro, Professional Detailer or an experienced user.

Application
Application Instructions
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS SUPPLIED WITH ALL GLIDECOAT PRODUCTS.
Before applying Glidecoat MAX, ensure the surface of your boat has been fully prepped, including cleaning, removal of any marine organisms, dirt, salt scum or other surface contaminants to ensure a consistent surface. If the surface has oxidation, this must be removed with a machine buffer and a compound before applying Glidecoat MAX. For optimal results, Glidecoat MAX should be applied to a clean, glossy surface. Prior to application of the coating, wipe down the clean prepped surface with Glidecoat Surface Wipe or Isopropyl Alcohol to remove any lingering oils or contaminants.
- Using the provided pipette, apply 2-3ml of Glidecoat MAX to the application sponge. Working in a 4ft x 4ft section, apply Glidecoat MAX using an up-and-down, then side-to-side pattern, ensuring the entire section is evenly covered with coating. If even coverage is not achieved in this first pass, quickly add more Glidecoat MAX to the application sponge and go over the section again to achieve consistency. Glidecoat MAX will begin to self-level within 15-30 seconds, creating a smooth and uniform appearance.
- While the previous section is still wet, within 1-2 minutes, repeat step 1 on your next section, overlapping slightly with your previous section. It is important to move from section to section while the previously applied coating is still wet to allow the coating to self-level properly. Once previously applied sections of coating have dried – approximately 5 minutes – you will no longer be able to overlap the coating. The coating will not level properly on the dried coating, which will cause high spots and inconsistencies in the finish.
- Continue applying the coating in 4×4 sections in a non-stop fashion until one side of the hull is completely coated or you have reached a definitive break point in the hull (such as a chine line).
- Only one coat of Glidecoat MAX is required. Multiple coats cannot be applied!
- Allow 24 hours of cure time before splashing the boat in the water.

Benefits
BENEFITS:
- MAXimum thickness for increased durability: The unique formulation of Glidecoat MAX allows the coating to fully cure at 10x the thickness of a standard ceramic coating – 20 microns vs. 1-2 microns. This increases the durability of the coating giving it the strength to stand up to the extreme friction under the water line for up to 1 year.
- Ceramic alternative to bottom paint: Glidecoat MAX is formulated to be an alternative to bottom paint. Beyond the increased durability, you have the added benefits of a clear coating, no biocides or heavy metals, no added weight, and a smooth finish that actually improves performance.
- Self-levelling for quick and easy application: Beyond allowing for MAXimum thickness, the self-levelling ensures a smooth glossy finish with minimum effort – No-hand buffing required!
- Anti-fouling for MAX performance: Glidecoat MAX creates a smooth hydrophobic antifouling surface on the bottom of your bottom which greatly reduces the amount of marine growth. This improves performance while also preventing damage.
- Single coat saves time: Because Glidecoat MAX doesn’t require buffing, it is already at the maximum thickness with just one coat – saving you time when applying.
