How are you doing? Christian here from Glidecoat and today we're going to be going over how to apply our new Hydrophobic Spray & Rinse. This is one of our newest products that we developed here. It's a water-activated coating that I'm going to be able to spray on to a wet, clean surface and then rinse it off. It's going to make the surface instantly hydrophobic, add some nice gloss to the surface while also giving a really nice slickness.

This product is going to give you up to 3 months protection - super easy to apply. Again, you can put it on a coated surface, it can be applied over top of a wax or an uncoated surface, so, it's an excellent product for maintaining your Glidecoat Ceramic Coating. Or if you just want something quick and easy to apply with little effort, this is the product for you.

So we're going to start with the application. Like I said, I've got a clean wet surface here. We've already washed it down. I'm going to turn this spray nozzle. You attach it to a standard garden hose and turn it to the left to apply the product. We're going to work in a 10' by 10' section here.

One of our tips and tricks to get the most coverage out of this, we're going to start at the top and we're going to work in kind of an S-shape pattern all the way down, allowing the material to kind of run down the surface and give complete coverage. I don't want to put too much on in one specific area or you're going to run out of product too quickly. So we're going to go ahead and apply it, starting at the top. As you can see it only took a couple seconds there. The product is running its way down.

What we're going to do is let this sit on the surface for 30 seconds to a minute. Make sure our entire area is covered. Let the product kinda sit on the surface and what we're going to do is we're going to turn the nozzle to the right here to the water function. This is going to activate the coating and as we hit it with the water you're going to see really nice water beading. It's actually going to help spread the coating out. So it's just as easy as that.

So it's been our time now. We're going to go ahead and start to rinse it off.

Alright, so just a few tips and tricks when we're using the Hydrophobic Spray & Rinse. This product as I said, it's water-based and when we turn to the left to the spray function, as we're applying the coating, we have 1 minute. If I were to leave it on the spray setting continuously - 1 minute from full to empty. So you want to keep that in mind when applying. So when I'm doing my 10' section, I really only need to have the product on spray function, applying it on the surface, for about 5 seconds. So, you're doing kind of 5 second increments all the way around which will allow you to get a lot of coverage out of this.

As I said, we're going to do an S pattern Whether we're working on a boat, an RV, a car, a plane, we always want to start from the top and work our way down. Moving in an S pattern, we don't have to cover it perfectly cause the product is going to start to kind of run down and give you complete coverage. So, don't let it sit on the surface for too long and overuse the product.

It's very versatile as well. So I can apply it over top of my glass. If I'm working on a boat I can put it on the vinyl cushions, eisenglass, metal, engine cowlings - virtually any hard surface. You probably want to avoid the non-skid deck because it will make it slippery. You can always apply it on that surface, but just keep in mind, it will make a slick finish on that non-skid.

And then after we've applied the coating, typically we like to dry it. You can use always a leaf blower to get rid of all the water off the surface. It'll run it off. Shammy dry. If you do notice any streaking on glass or metal surface, anything like that - very simple. Just take a wet rag, wipe it and streaks are gone. No issues.
