Inflatable Fabric tenders provide great advantages over other options. Inflatables are lighter, easy to store, and require less horsepower.

Unfortunately, along with these benefits there are also downsides.

The biggest issue with inflatable fabrics is the damage from the sun’s UV rays. PVC especially has been known to be very susceptible although it is a common issue for both PVC and CSM (Hypalon). In addition CSM (Hypalon) and PVC both tend to have a lot of expansion with changes in temperature stretching the material and seams causing failures and costly repairs.

Also, abrasion and scratches can damage the fabric and leave ugly marks and soft impacts with docks and other boats can cause leaks and adhesive failures at the seams. Then there are storage issues with moisture leaving black mold spots that are difficult to remove. And finally, there is the difficulty of keeping the tender clean given the highly porous fabric material like CSM (Hypalon) or PVC.

The solution to these issues is Glidecoat Inflatable. The product uses our Smart Surface Nano Technology to fill all the microscopic pores of the fabric (either CSM or PVC) to create a smooth surface that reflects water, dirt, and salt. With respect to UV, laboratory testing shows that when Glidecoat Inflatable is applied it reduces UV damage and color loss by 45% over a 12-month period.

In addition, the Glidecoat Inflatable Hard Bottom Kit also comes with Glidecoat Marine Ceramic Coating to cover the Fiberglass bottom, thereby protecting it from marine growth.

Our kits are designed for two size; Up to 12′ and Up to 20′. If you require recommendations from our team on a custom kit to fit your needs, please do not hesitate to reach us at (561) 290-0165 and our team will be glad to help you.

  • Benefits

    Benefits

    • Prevents UV Damage and fading by 45% over a 12-month period based on testing in the extreme UV conditions in South Florida
    • Reduces Adhesive Failures
    • Eliminates mold and mildew staining
    • Helps prevents leaks and damage from soft impacts
    • Increases material resilience to extreme temperatures (cold or heat)
    • Protects tubes and ribs from marine growth
    • Extends the life of an Inflatable by 2-3 years
  • Storage & Usage Instructions

    Usage Instructions

    • First prepare your Inflatable by removing loose dirt and contaminants by rinsing with a hose or power wash. For light dirt, mix 2 caps of Nano Wash per bucket, and 4 caps for heavier soiling
    • Begin washing with a soft wash sponge/brush in a first bucket of water to release dirt. Repeat in a second bucket containing your dilution of water and Glidecoat Nano Wash
    • Ensure that you never press hard to remove dirt – for stubborn dirt, allow to soak for several minutes – and
always rinse your Inflatable thoroughly to remove all soap residues
    • Gently dry your tender with a microfiber drying towel and wait until fully dry before applying the Glidecoat Inflatable Coating
    • To start coating, apply a small portion of Glidecoat Inflatable Coating to the application sponge and lightly apply the coating on a specific panel or section moving the sponge in an up and down motion, then across ensuring the whole section is covered. The section will look slightly wet and color will be more pronounced. After 20-30 seconds use a clean microfiber towel and wipe across the section coated to remove any excess product. Apply to tubes and bottom of the tender in the same way
    • The coating itself should only be 1-2 microns thick so applying a lot of coating does not improve the product’s
      performance
    • Storage

Glidecoat Inflatable Coating has a shelf life of 8-12 months and should be used within 30 days of opening. To ensure maximum shelf life refrigerate or place in a freezer once open.
